Data has the power to make society a better place and effective communication of analytical insights gained from this data is an important step towards achieving this. As political debates move into the public sphere through social media it is becoming increasingly important for the general public to have an understanding of the scientific method and be able to see and understand evidence themselves. Research insights need to be communicated in ways that are accessible not just to those with higher degrees.

I am a social psychology graduate interested in evidence-based policy. My personal data journey started at Leicestershire County Council, as a Research and Insight Officer, getting time to practice Tableau on my own when we were between projects. My passion for data visualisation discovered, I joined The Data School at The Information Lab and completed two years of training, with four long-term consulting engagements.

I now work as a freelance consulting analyst.
